RIP Peanut Butter

Postby Patti In Oz on Thu Jan 01, 2009 9:51 pm

I lost my little mate yesterday. I am gutted. I keep expecting to hear his funny little voice saying "Where's Fwed". Or "Puss Puss Puss, wanna drink of milk?". I will miss him always.

Patti, I'm so very sorry  I'm in a crisis for a week myself with a much loved bird, so it's easier than I wish to imagine your feelings. Wish it weren't so. Hugs across the miles.

I've been in your place a couple of times myself and it brings you to your knees. There are no words that will take away the pain - only time.

Thanks to the both of you. It's never easy losing a family member, and PB was certainly more than a pet. But...I like to think that his last 5 years were his best, and that helps me a bit. I hope your little one is on the mend BB.

Oh, Pati, I'm so sorry! I haven't been around much lately, due to health issues w/ my human flock. Which, I'm ashamed to say, is easier for me to deal with than loss of a feathered family member. Healling hugs.

Thanks BL! We lost PB exactly one month after the death of my father in law. I can say that the grief is different, but comparable! MY FIL was suffering from advanced Alzheimers when he died. He had always called PB "Charlie-Bird" (the name of a galah the family had 30 years ago.) I like to visualise them together keeping each other company til we all are together again.
