I just posted this on Grey Chat and I will wait to see how people respond first before I post any more...I want to make sure it is ok that I post this first! If not, please kindly let me know so that I learn the rules!
My name is Karen and I actually used to be a regular on Grey Matter....but it was years ago and I am just now getting back online. I remember I enjoyed it so much talking to everyone and getting to know the regulars!
I have a question that I would like to put out there to other bird/parrot owners and tell you all about a project that I have been working on and well, I didn't know where else to go but to an online bird chat group to post the question out there and see what kind of interest others may have.....I hope it is ok that I post it here!
You know how there are luxury cages out there that have a skirt that go around the perimeter of the base of the cage? Well, when the door to the cage is open, the existing skirts don't extend out enough to cover the width of the door...and so for YEARS now I have been placing newspaper and mats underneath my cages to protect the floor from poop and debris. I have 4 parrots and man, they can make a mess! So I designed a skirt for the door. It is a removable, adjustable skirt that is powder-coated to match various colors of cages and comes with a removeable disposable liner. For 2 mths now I have not had to clean up any messy paper from underneath my cages. It has been AWESOME. I patented the design and am in process of having a website set up etc...and I am going to post an ad in Bird Talk magazine (due out in about 2 mths or so) but right in the middle of all this exciting stuff, I have got caught in a rutt where Im wondering if I am moving forward with something that people will think is silly or will not use etc. If the response is favorable though and people think they would like it, then I will sign up and pay the UpAtSix advertising site and put my product up there, too! But before I get more in debt with it all, I would like to know: If you had an opportunity to put a very nice cage-complementing accessory on the door of your cage (there are 3 sizes and they are designed to fit most any and all cages) that collects the poop - would you put it on your cage? Sorry for the long post
Thank you for reading and for your response. cash59@msn.com
