black spots?

Postby minerjus10 on Tue Nov 27, 2007 7:29 pm

my ducorps cockatoo"Abby" has some spots on her neck that are black in color. These spots seem to be where a feather should be in place.I really dont know what would cause this. She gets in the shower with me at least once a week.I have her take showers to promote good healthy skin and feathers.Does anyone know what would cause these black spots on the skin??Please let me know if you can help me.

Does she seem to pick at them or be bothered by them? My birds are molting now, so they have all kinds of little bare spots etc..I would keep watch on them...they could just be pigmentation. If she seems to be bothered I'd see my vet, just to be safe..Let us know if you learn anything about them. Thanks.
