Some time ago my sister gave me a furry cap that was appropriate to wear the past few days as ihas been ridiculously cold here.

Both Wendell (The great White (is it shark or cockatoo sometimes)) and Goffins Vivian absolutely hate that hat. When Vivian saw it he attempted to attack through the bars of the cage, and he is normally a very sweet little guy. Wendell hissed and spread out feathers and crest!

None of the other birds seemed even to notice.

That's how my male quaker and BFA are when my long hair is wet Shampoos must be carefully timed if I'm to avoid attack. Let's hope neither of us ever forgets these odd hatreds.

Nail Polish!!! OMG!! I will NEVER wear nail polish again. I thought I was going to lose my fingers. My Sun Conure went berserk!!!

Bingo doesn't like nail polish either. He just went to the back of the cage and stared daggers at me though.

I wonder if they are thinking that your head is being attacked by a furry creature, and they want you to protect them from it...or maybe because they don't see it very often...since I hope it's seasonal. I have one cockatoo that hates my glasses, and I have to make sure that I am not wearing them when I let him out...

I darkened my hair last night (went from light blond to dark blond). My cockatoo didn't seem to notice or care but my sun conure (the one who attacked my nail polish) just kept staring at me and cocking her head as if to say "is it really you?".
