Safe wood preservative.

Hi, we are having to re-build our Aviary (to house mainly 'Tiels, but occasionally 'Toos) and need to apply some kind of preservative, but of course it needs to be bird safe. Does anyone know of anything which would be effective and yet safe please?

As we live in the UK, if there is a commercially available one, I would be really grateful if a website could be given so I could check availablity over here.

Many thanks
