Shauna, I just saw a rerun of HGTV's story on your bird room. I enjoyed it even more than the first time I saw it. Your 'too's look like they are so blissful! The gazebo is great too.

Really! It would be so great to have a kitchen devoted entirely to the birds. Just think of all the goodies you could keep always at hand. And all that space for them to fly in that natural-looking setting! Those 'toos liked that camera, too.

Isn't it totally wonderful......I think her story about the painters is so funny....just hand them cans of blue paint and tell them to go to town....

It was on the HGTV network on a program called Pet Pads. They also had a story about a woman with pet pigs.

Shauna has six 'toos, I think, and a couple of hawkheads, and a couple of 'tiels.

When is that show on? I would love to watch it to see all the different setups people have.

I have never been able to discern a regular time for this show. I think they just stick it in from time to time. And I have never seen any but this one particular segment so I'm not even sure there are any more. It's a shame, because it really is an interesting show.

I love home design shows, especially when they incorporate pets. Some people get really creative! I can only imagine what Shauna's looks like.

Glad you caught it! I missed it LOL! No way of knowing when the show will be on as far as a regular schedule but you can check on the HGTV Website. Just go over there and click on Special Presentations and type in Pet Pads (its the only Pet Pads....another special prior to it was titled Pet Palace). If a show is going to air it tells you about 2 months or so in advance.

Having the kitchen is nice but then again.....I now have 2 kitchens to keep clean ;-0 ...but having the food right there, the guys can help me etc...it is nice! During the show we had 6 cockatoos...since that time Angel U2 came to us and in a few days I'll see Sunny U2 again and after about 5 yrs of knowing him (he stole my heart the minute I met him) , other birds coming to us with special needs.....well...Sunny is coming home!!! So that'll be 8 'toos and we're FULL. The bird room is actually crammed full at this point.

LOL! yeah....said it before myself but this time....we're really FULL. As in ...not one more cage will fit....literally. I could downsize a few but I won't do that. One 'too...Casper's cage is 8' wide....Annabelle's if 4x6' and others are all the largest macaw size. We brought in a wild caught hawkhead that lost his long time goffins buddy ....cause we had 2 hawheads. Thought he'd enjoy their company and he seems to be. An M2 that was......she acted autistic but is doing much better (its been almost 5 yrs)...and a U2 that has had some serious health/nutritional issues but is finally doing well after a 2 yrs puzzlement...oh and the plucking amazon that was looked over so many times cause he wouldn't talk for strangers and is also in a macaw size cage......so all of those added while Sunny pulled at my heartstrings and he also hadn't found a home...and has struck in the 3 he had so....he's coming home and I can't wait. We're finally down the countdown to seeing him again. I'll be able to hold him this time next week. I'm sure people here of all places can imagine the tears I've left behind every time I came home without Sunny boy.

Just wanted to add.....I love them ALL but even so its funny how some pull at the heartstrings more than others. that may be a good thing! LOL Since I often visit over 150 'toos at least a few times a year. Gosh...I'd constantly be an emotional mess saying good bye.
