I turned one down..does that count? ;-) I didn't feel it fit into my flock. I do know an MM2 and knew another one but not as well. Both hens and sweet birds. Like to hang out with their people...not touchy feely birds in general. One girl has done well one trips and having several people handle her. I also knew 2 young males who were cute but nippy. It may have been due to not being handled often enough...don't know but meeting and talking to an Australian friend last week...in Oz they don't have a reputation of being the best of pets.

I've met one MM and may have seen a couple more. From what I have learned they tend to be very independant birds, not as cuddly as their white cousins... and the attitude!

A friend and I were in a parrot store, and my friend picked up the MM2 in there... well the MM big the side of my friends neck, which resulted in an "Ow". The MM started tossing her head side to side saying "Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!". She was just being so riled up and noisy. I got her off my friends shoulder, then lifted her up into the air (not even thinking) quickly. She spread her wings out, spread that crest, and said "Big Eagle!"

They can be a real hoot, but from what I've learned, a LOT to handle too!

I cared for one for a couple years that was supposed to be a female....very nice bird. It was skittish when it came here but was willing to snuugle down and take afternoon naps with me when it left! If i came upon another as sweet as this one was, i would do it again in a heartbeat! But, this time for keeps!!!
