I got an E-mail from the woman last night. Snowflake is doing great. She sent me the money via mail and I am now waiting for it. It's not the ending I was hoping for. But now that she has completed her end of the sale I have nothing to fight her on. Some of us seem to think she was sold to someone else and that is why the sudden turnaround. I just hope that Snowflake is truely good/happy wherever she is.

so she said snowflake was vicious...and you didn't beleive her and thought it was a scam..yada yada yada. Now she sends you an email to tell you snowflake is doing great and suddenly she has credibility. I know you said about wanting to get the bird back...and that she changed her mind about it a few times. So now you decide to accept the money instead of getting the bird back? And she isn't sending it, without you accepting it...so that stuff about her completing her end of the sale leaves you helpless seems a bit suspect.

You don't have to accept payment. You know it's a scam (or at lease that seems to be the opinion of the board) I guess I just don't understand why you have the change of heart all of a sudden. But then again....I don't seem to understand many of your actions in this case. I hope you've learned some lessons with this transcaction. And I hope the bird has a happy new life.

My lord, Kiasmama, let it GO! You lectured me on being nice months ago for saying "I hope your bird makes it" to someone looking for free medical advice on a problem that screamed VET! And now you're riding Crissy like a snapping turtle. She agreed to sell the bird, and she's been paid. What more can she do than hope, as we all do, that wherever Snowflake is, she's happy and being loved.

why should I let it go? someone is on here crying for sympathy and you wonderful people are giving it...and the story makes as much sense as a bag of rocks. "Oh this person is a scam...I want the bird back, but I can't take off work, she's going to give it back to me, I decided to take the money...blah blah blah" She is full of excuses. Actions speak louder than words. Thats' fine that she agreed to sell the bird...then don't come on here begging for sympathy, get ideas, then do nothing. Live with your decision.

I doubt she even reported the so called scammer to anyone. She didn't even give her name so we could avoid her. It was all just poor me crap. That's fine that some of you say...there really is no use attacking her...it's the bird that matters. I agree 1000%. That's why I'm being so hard on her. I hope she never gets another bird. No I'm not perfect, and some things aren't forseen, but there is no excuse for what she put that bird thru. With all the help available today? Please.... cry me a river. I'd be out picking thru the garbage for tin cans to sell in order to feed my bird.

And yes...you were extreme on your post to that person you are referring to. It turned out it wasn't the life threatening thing that you thought it was. So your "I hope he makes it" coment was WAY off base. I didn't lecture you....I simply told you.. "I hope he makes it" was an unecessary stress on the owner and it didn't need to be stated so bluntly...and as it turned out...you were wrong. If you think that's a lecture...that's your problem.

LJ, have you ever considered going on "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?".

Frankly, I'm getting sick and tired of your accusations about me and some of the old timers. The people who own this board, lock, stock and barrel is Damien and Kirsten. End of that story. It used to be a very good board until people like you showed up. The only word that comes to mind when I see your name is - collector. Are you familiar with that term? If not, I think you should look it up, you might learn something.

Are you just upset because you've been kicked off center stage? Personally, I think you are a drama queen. Oh poor me, everyone is picking on me. Poor LJ. Give me a break.

That was funny!!!!
ANYWAY.......I just went back and read a few of the posts from Chrissy and it seems to me that she did everything that she could do. REMEMBER she is only 23 years YOUNG!!! She probably doesn't earn as much as a lot of us 'older' women and her company had cutbacks, her neighbors were complaining.........she did what she had to do. And when things went haywire she did what she could AFFORD to do. I didn't ONCE see a post from her asking for pity, only for help and suggestions. Some people can afford to have more than one or two birds............some can't but thought they could. I was SHOCKED the first year, with all the toys, food waste, vet bills, CAGE COST!!!! And I studied up on it before I got my birds!!! Chrissy is only 23!!! Most 23 year olds can't afford ONE bird, much less two (they just THINK they can). Even a 'free' bird is never 'free'. And LJ, didn't you say something about never taking a 'free' bird and didn't I just see a post from you with pictures of 2 new birds that were "just dropped off"? Did you pay for them? I don't really care if you did or not (I don't think you did though) but it just seems to me that you had a bad experience (reading previous posts from you) and your taking it out on others. Did you and Kiasmama lose skin from your noses from Chrissy's post? NO.........so why the attack on her? No reason for it.....none at all. Just drop it and leave the kid alone to lick her wounds.

For your info- YES they were dropped off, but I also gave a Severe Macaw that we bought back to the people who we purchased him from- the Cockatoo's were to much for them to handle. You all know- there is 3 sides to EVERY STORY, each side then the TRUTH, you all have your side and the TRUTH is burried in the middle- I was raised and only live by, THRUTH. Leg hummping and trying to win you all over- aint gonna happen with me- Yes I give up here, I dont care for the regular posters cause its their way or you get slammed, I never attacked ANYONE till someone came here pissing and moaning- well dont sell, or give your bird to someone eles then run and bitch about to the wide web. There is no such thing as a free bird- those 2 Cockatoos have cost us 1000.00 in vetting and the Severe i paid 650.00 plus another 1000.00 in vetting and cage-ect. So yhea I have a life now I will ignore this BS and tend to it and enjoy it! 8)

I"m sorry you or whoever view questions and observations as an attack. I guess we should all be glad it's a bird and not a child.... "only 23" doesn't sound like such a good excuse for that, does it.

Yeah...maybe it is skin off my nose. Cause rehomed birds, especially toos, are a big problem. And as long as people tell her...she did her best...and it wasn't her fault......yada yada yada....maybe she'll keep doing it. If someone tell her what an a** she was ..and that she needs to take responsibiliy for the stupid choices she made with that bird....maybe it make her think about what she did and she will think about it the next time she decides to have a bird.

When I got Annie in December 2005 I was 52 years young. She was VERY sick when I got her (for $200), she had numerous infections and was neglected to the point that she chewed her tail feathers and wing feathers OFF. Not knowing as much as I should have I let her ride my shoulder. How stupid was that on my part!!! She fell to the kitchen floor (Porcelain) and I saw blood!! I freaked out (ANOTHER stupid mistake on my part). But I am so lucky to have an emergency animal clinic nearby and the Avian vet was on call that Sunday night!!!
My point, you ask? EVERYONE screws up. When I got home that night, I got on UAS and posted what I had done. NOT ONE PERSON (this was the OLD UAS by the way), I repeat, NOT ONE PERSON said anything negative to me. Just that everyone of them had made some kind of mistake, and if they didn't they were sure they someday would. That's what this place USED to be like.
We would go on 'vacations', 'cruises', Annie fell 'in love'. Yeah, it was silly but I don't get to go on real vacations and I had the time of my life on the last 'Cruise'!!! No one called anybody names!! Why did that have to start? If anyone is an ass it's YOU for starting such arguments!!! Chrissy was only asking for help and got an ear full of poop from you two!
One last time and I'm done. LAY OFF THE POOR KID!!

Best news I've had all weekend! I love being wrong about birds being sick  I've read all his MANY birds for sale posts without ever finding another mention of the male 'zon who was mutilating his leg: viewtopic.php?p=17753&highlight=#17753

What was the cause -- and the cure? I'd really like to know so I don't make that mistake again.

We all have our buttons, and one of mine is breeders making money off birds but being unwilling to spring for a vet exam. Yes, I did intend for my remark to scare him. I wanted him to go to a vet to save his investment. You've given me hope my strategy worked 8)

I believe the problem was Amazon Foot Necrosis. I dont' recall what the cure was. The person sent me an IM about it and thanked me. I dont' recall whether or not there was a cure mentioned.

I can totally agree with your point of view...I think I made my feelings clear about the responsibilities of a bird owner.

I"m sorry I missed the part where you sold a bird, then wanted it back, then was going to get it back, was so worried you came on a message board, knew it was a scam, then didn't take the time to file court documents, then took the money, then said everyone is happily ever after. Where was that? How can you even compare your situation to this one. You can't. Oh...I was a member of the old UAS as well.

Sorry I don't fall into the love fest. This wasn't a vet problem, an injury problem, or a bird rasing mistake...this was sellers remorse and immature drama. She got a ton of solution for the problem and did nothing about it. In the end she took the money, which is what she wanted in the first place. People get rid of thier birds....I understand that. But to come on and go thru all this nonsensical drama and get unquestioned support and then do what you intended in the begining is just silly to me.

Isn't that part of bird owners responsibility? Non of you would have a problem going into PetSmart and telling them they aren't treating their birds properly, yet someone on a mesasge board gets unquestioned support for the same irrisponsible behavior. why?

Sorry, name calling didnt start till someone came here crying about something they did and felt jilted- come on! Name calling didnt start till I was told I attack everyone- which I dont- but 2-3 feel i do- but they would- cause I dont hump their leg- not gonna happen. I have 10 rehomed parrots 4 Macaws, 6 cockatoos- no one can cry a river and make me feel bad- been there done that, But i will say this, I have never commited to a animal that I wouldnt live without material things- eat bread and water and make sure my Birds and kids have what they need. Im just fortunate to have the support of a Wonderful Husband, who quit this board cause of the same people who jump on me, guess they just hate people who are able to take in, buy and support their birds. There comes a time 23 yrs old- whatever be an adult step up and stop making everyone eles out to fight your battles. I have never attacked anyone- but when one comes to the web to get sympathy over something they caused, or ask a zillion people about something and one says, either fix it or find someone who will- well to me thats cut and dry not being mean. Dont ask if you cant take what anyone who has the liberty of answering, or next time just say will the fellow leg hummper only reply- then they are sure to get stroked the way they want. Im not a collector- I have people call, email ask for us to take in, find homes for birds daily- I have turned 20 away this last month. I (WE) do it for the love of the birds and we have the money and knowledge to care for them, I even have had people come to our home to see how we care and provide, we go to schools, there is so much that needs to be done to educate people, but yet Im the BIG BAD MEANIE, well life isnt roses and to think you can sit back and watch through rose colored glasses, I do pitty you! I dont lie, and I do tell it as it is- dont like dont read it! Chrissy- I wish you the best and hopefully Snowflake got into a home that will love her and be dedicated to her well being. We all make mistakes, say things others dont like but in the end, it is only the love and compassion for the birds I give a damn about, Im not her to make friends, I dont need friends on here, I came here to share, learn and hopefully help someone- god life would be such a drag to agree with everyone- I will not be a clone or a puppet. Respect, not much here has mine- all they do is say how awful I am, how wrong i always am- no I dont want poor LJ- Im fine, I do my best and I know Our 12 Parrots are happy, healthy and alive cause we stepped in, I dont need you acceptance, but it get tiring having to defend when not even being attackful. Jealousy, whatever drives you to speak so horrible- may karma not be as harsh on you as you have been on me.
