I'm new to birds but learning... I have been looking at all the different birds species and I'm liking the cockatoos. I was just wondering which cockatoo is the smartest??

They are all smart and most are mechanically inclined as well. It's all an individual thing. The big white cockatoos (as well as Moluccan Cockatoos) tend to demand the most out of a person thus are rehomed most frequently. Generally speaking, the smaller cockatoos, as well as the "colored" toos (black, major mitchels, galahs) are said to be more independant, and shed less dust (especially the black toos) or so I heard.

Thanks MFids, we are a long ways from getting a Cockatoo but one day... maybe. I really like the Goffins...

I have a Goffin Cockatoo and my husband and I laugh at her for hours every evening. She is the funniest character!!! And she isn't a 'Velcro Bird' like the larger Cockatoos. I'm extremely glad I have a Goffin.
