Hi All,

Can someone refresh me on why we shouldn't purchase these Ionic Breeze purifiers?

I can't remember

Thanks!

Here's one article that describes the danger:

    http://allergyclean.com/news/5112006.htm

I've run across many posts that seemed to implicate these towers in illnesses and even deaths of birds. One bird began itching furiously within 24 hrs of a new Ionic Breeze being used in his room. After a day or two of itching frenzies and pulling feathers, someone suggested removing the ionizer and the bird calmed almost instantly. I watched this drama unfold from the first few hours of itching thru his recovery, so I feel confident the facts are accurate.

Air cleaners with HEPA filters are good in bird rooms.

The article I linked is about human reactions, not birds'.

It's not safe for birds.... we have been learning that it's not safe for humans either.... is there a way to turn the ionizer off?

I had ordered a mini ionic air purifier in December made very much the same as the ionic breeze only smaller for smaller spaces. I plugged it in a tried it out in my living room, which is also where my birds are. I got sick immediately and suffered with a consistent severe headache for about a week until I finally figured out it was the machine doing it to me. I turned it off and got better. I immediately repacked it and set it back to the company.

I would rather live with some bird dust, then get sick from something like that, and I have asthma.
