One should recognise that avian kidneys are very different than those of mammals. Although some biology text arrogantly refer to everything different than human as "primitive" that is a very poor term.
Birds are MORE efficient at metabolising excess nitrogen compounds, but LESS efficient in removing salt. Thus it is a VERY bad idea to give salty food to birds, though of course they require some in their diets.
Never feed any birds salted nuts. (And humans should really not eat them either!)
Some birds really go for food that is warm. One might try warm rice. Because this bird is underweight you might try various types of nuts, they are, after all, one of the primary natural foods of wild cockatoos. Their beaks are amazingly well adapted for eating them!!!
I would also be surprised if a cockatoo could resist some warm scrambled or hard boiled egg.
