Holiday Time (UK)

Postby nicky56gizmo on Fri Feb 16, 2007 8:41 am

Hi everyone,

I live in North West England (UK), in Lancashire. The only decent parrot boarding facility I know of is in Essex (Small animals boarding) and is a great place, as the lady who runs it rehomes and rehabilitates parrots for the RSPCA. My gizzy loves it there. I have only ever been on holiday once in the last 4 years, because I hate leaving him!! I have now decided to start going camping, and have bought a collapsable dog cage and extra perches etc so we can camp together. I have also bought two harnesses, a feather teather and an aviator. Hes gona love it, cause as all you cockatoo owners out there know, they love being the centre of attention. :D

But..... if any time you need to go away(like hospital etc), does anyone know of a good home nearer to me?? :?

I am willing to take anyone elses bird whilst they go away if anyone needs me!!

What do you think?

Nicky

It is often very difficult to find someone to care for one's bird(s) when
one wants to travel. Some birds travel well, others hate the idea of leaving
    their normal home!

Wendell, the big cockatoo of this house, has recently decided he does not like to travel. He was unhappy all the time we were away from home. Amazingly he knew when we started the long trip home, and was immediately happy again! I always wonder how he understands that we are going home?
