Anyone remember this?

I always laugh when I read this:

Wilma's Night Before Christmas.

‘Twas the night before Christmas,
At the Baker house,
One creature was stirring,
But it wasn’t a mouse.

John and Carolyn were nestled
All snug in their bed
Dreaming of credit bills
And quaking with dread.

Wilma, the cockatoo,
Has escaped from her cage
And was working herself up
To a fine parrot rage.

Down the stairs Wilma hopped
And she flew
To see what mischief
A big ‘Too could do.

She found the stockings hung
By the chimney with care
In hopes that St. Nicholas
Soon would be there.

She was just getting ready
To shred one or two,
When she heard a strange noise.
It was something totally new.

So she hopped to the window
And shredded the shade,
Bit a chunk from the woodwork
And the drapes Carolyn had made.

When what to her wandering eyes
Should appear
But a miniature sleigh
And eight tiny reindeer.

With a little old driver
So lively and quick
That anyone but Wilma
Would have known ‘twas St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles
Those reindeer flew.
They were up on the roof
Before Wilma could chew.

As she was raising her crest
And turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas
Came with a bound.

Wilma opened her beak
And gave a loud scream.
Santa was in big trouble
If you know what I mean.

He took a quick look
At that sharp, gaping beak,
And then eyeing Wilma,
He let out a shriek.

“You bad bird”, he shouted.
“you really scared me!”
“I’ll leave no gift in your stocking,
Or under this tree.”

“I’m ouuta here now
And won’t ever come back!!”
“I simply can’t face
Another Moluccan attack!”

So saying he grabbed
His sore, bleeding nose
And without one word,
Up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh,
To his team gave a whistle,
And away they all raced
Like an armed guided missile.

John and Carolyn heard Santa shout,
As he raced out of sight,
“There should be a law against loose ‘Toos
On Christmas Eve night.”

They sprang from their bed
And ran down the stairs
To find Wilma sleeping
In one of John’s favorite chairs.

Her stocking they stuffed
‘Till it was quite full
With soft blocks of wood
And some rope to pull.

And peanuts and oranges,
A juke box, a toy-
All kinds of good things
To give a ‘Too joy.

John was heard to explain
As he wished Wilma good night.
“you don’t have to be a good bird
Or do things just right,
‘Cause your people love you,
Even when you bite.”

Carolyn Baker..
To the world, you may be only one being.
But to one being, you may be the world!

    Hi Queen Mum:)
I do remember that but didn't really touch me like it did tonight. I love that part where they don't have to be what anyone (including Santa;) thinks what a good bird is .....we will always love them just for being them:):):)

thanks Cath, and hoping you have a happy healthy Christmas,
