About 18 months ago or so I got one of the little cleaning robots. It is extraordinarily good for cleaning around cages. It has a little pylon that you can put up to prevent it running all over the house if you do not want it to do. When they finish cleaning they return to the charger for a recharge.
It does a rather good job of cleaning under them too. It works rather poorly on carpets, even though they are advertised to work well there too.
Bird dust and feathers occasionally need to be carefully removed from it, otherwise its sensors seem to get confused and it becomes unable to return to the home base charger after cleaning the floor, or it may start to go in circles in one spot.
Wendell was terrified of it at first, as were most of the other birds.
It cannot get into corners very well, and it never cleans very well around where the charger is located. One can sweep the debris out of the corner with a whisk broom and around the charger before setting it to work and that problem is solved.
Anyone else try these for around bird rooms?
