btw in my signature you can see that we have also added a new budgie to our flock, Midori (cause he's green  ), don't know what you would call his colours :?: it is a bit of an olive/jade green, a bit speckled even with yellow spots.........Indy likes him luckily though they do argue occasionally :? Indy seems so big next to Midori, guess Midori might have a bit more growing to do

This is Midori closer up

Awww, what an adorable tiel family you have there. The two babies on the right, it looks as if they have a white ring around their necks.....what really neat coloring they have! Oh, and a new budgie too! congrats on the new addition!

They're all beautiful, Midori too :) If you shortened the chain on that bell by about 6 inches, they would probably love sticking their heads into it -- and it wouldn't get pooped on.

Wow..your babies are beautiful. I've never seen tiels like those ones on the far right. Boy, are they pretty!
I like your set-up too.
Midori is a little cutie too. I just love budgies. :D They are such little boogers :D :D

What a cute little family! And I wouldn't be sure what to call Midori's color either, but she is one pretty gal! I would have thought yellowface since she's got blue AND green but she doesn't look like she's gone through her first molt, yet!

no Monica that's right cause she's only a baby still (and yes more than likely a girl which I didn't want oh well :| )
She is what I've been told, a yellowface type 2 sky blue (which is more a greenish aqua colour really).
She is stunning but sooooo tiny compared to Indy
Apparently Midori is a "bush budgie" (standard wild Ozzie budgie basically  ) and Indy a pet budgie which I believe is sometimes called an American budgie :?:
And then there's those really large budgies, they're show budgies over here..

I know more on tiel mutations than I do budgies... but it was from my understanding that if a bird is yellowface (type 2), they start out blue, and color up blue-green! There's also Goldenface, however that acts the same way as Yellowface Type 2! :?

As for sizes, it was from my understanding that the american/pet/normal budgies were the same size as the bush/wild budgies... and then we have the show/english/exhibition... and no matter what we call 'em, they are all Australian! But then, if a normal sized budgie was bred with a show budgie, it would result in budgies inbetween! And I'm sure there's a difference between show standard budgies and "pet" show budgies, too!

way too confusing
Midori is definitely greenish though, I would call it "jade olivey" sort of :? and she didn't start out blue either so to me her colours are very unique and lovely :D
I am still hoping Midori is going to turn out a boy though
The way Indy is behaving you'd think Midori was a boy :?
Midori was making some warbling sounds today so fingers crossed
His/her cere is starting to go blue now but Midori has white rings around the nostrils and apparently that is one way to sex a baby budgie, white rings around the nostrils indicate female.

Keep hoping!!! 'Cause I'm pretty sure Midori is a hen!
I've never seen a males cere look like a females, but I have seen an *EXTREMELY* blue cere on a female, so blue you'd think she were a male!!
