Rosie's mom-- if she needs bloodwork, do not be afraid--I know that is hard to hear, but try not to be. From what I understand, you now have a new vet, and there should not be a problem... I have had my birds get blood drawn, and the vet has done it in front of me (which scared me to death) but at least I saw it happen, and could talk to Bubba, and try to keep him calm. no matter what the vet says, the bleeding should stop IMMEDIATELY. The vet handed Bubba to me after the bloodwork was taken, and had me look at the needle wound--there was no excess bleeding, just a little red mark on his neck. Ask your vet to draw the blood in front of you, and then stay there so you can observe her at the vet's. I know how scary the incubator can be... Annabelle had a very, very bad reaction to some herbal meds given to her at the vet's, aspirated, and was not recovering.... they kept her at the vet's for observation for several hours afterwards... very scary, but I knew she was in good hands and was at the best place possible for her to have a medical emergency--that is how much confidence I had in this vet--so much so, that even though I am accross the state now, I will take Bubba there to have his bloodwork done and liver problem treated--because she is the best.
If there really is a problem, she could get worse, and then you will be in bigger trouble. Did they just do a physical exam on her, or did they do any more tests?
