Patti In Oz wrote:The food colouring worked a treat on the wood! They are in the oven as I type. Can't wait to get them done so I can start putting the toys together!!! Hubby has an extensive workshop and loves working with wood, so I think I might get him to make some different shapes for me too. Thanks again!!!

Oh Patti I am so glad it worked for you . Keep in mind that the harder the wood is the longer it must soak :D

Hubby is going to give me a tutorial in how to use the jigsaw this weekend. I am going to start making some shapes out of the rest of the nestbox offcuts. This is really fun!!!! Thanks again!

When I was younger--(much younger--I spent more time hanging out in the garage with my dad than in the kitchen with my mom. When I was in college, a co-worker of my dad asked him what he was giving his daughter for Christmas. My dad said, "A power saw and an electric sander." "No, I asked what you are getting your daughter" the man said. "A power saw and an electric sander." my father replied. I still have both :D I use them for wood work of the craft sort. I love working with wood. Almost as much as working with feathers.

I've always been the same..... Give me power tools and a project and I am content! I love following Jeff around when he's working on a project of his own and asking a million questions.
