When I soak my spout in the beginning stages I spray them with organic fruitwash which has grapeseed extract which is a disinfectant. The next day, I thoroughly rinse the sprouts of water and spray. I haven't got any mold.

Here's some more info on sprouting!

When I sprout seeds, I start out placing some in a jar (no more than 1/3 full), thoroughly rinsing the sprouts several times, then soaking either overnight or for 24 hours. After soaking, I rinse again, then either lay the jar on it's side or tip it on it's side with the top of the jar facing down so that the water can drain out. I usually have the jar tipped on it's side, draining, right over the sink. I then rinse 3 times a day, for 3-4 days before I deem the sprouts ready to feed! Of course, if you'd like, you could add some vinegar or GSE to the rinse water to prevent bacteria, but I've never had any issues!
