long island parrot society's show

Postby bostonbudgie on Thu Sep 11, 2008 6:48 am

Hey! is anybody thinking about attending the Long island parrot's societys annual show? (Oct 11th)
It's a pretty good event. If I can find lodging close by (and I do not have customers that weekend) I would like to go :)

Remember to wash everything before it comes in contact with your flock and if you take any birds to show, to quarantine them afterwards.

Oh no, I would not bring my birds to a show. I just like to attend the seminars and buy toys for my brats!

Toys will need to be disinfected completely before they come in contact with your flock. You never know what the toys have been exposed to. This is doubly (sp?) important with an immuno comprimised bird at home.

Oh definitely. New toys, dishes etc.. go through the dishwasher first! :)

Glad to hear it! I'd be spraying them with a bleach solution too, but I'm parinoid about bird marts. As much as people say that they are great, I'm terrified of bringing home something that cannot be cured to my flock.
