In the past week or so, I've noticed Gizmo is trying his best to pluck a hole in our couch. I've never seen him do anything like that before, and I'm curious if it is some kind of behavior related to trying to find a mate. I have to stop him, as he is trying to pull a thread, which in turn would let a hole open up. Any of you ever seen this kind of goings on?

Yes - I have seen that with Mac. He used to pick at one of the chairs in my family room and I took it as some sort of nesting behavior. He literally destroyed one side of the chair cushion by picking at it. It was almost compulsive with him at that time....as soon as he came out of the cage he went directly to that chair.
