My cockatiel eggs started hatching yesterday afternoon, but last night I heard them chirping in the egg. But why is it not hatching? I have humidity been spraying them and having the hen take a bath. I am getting worried its been almost 12 hours, is it typical for them to take this long? Last year they were pretty fast on hatching. I also I've checked them every few hours and nothing just chirping, I hate to have to assist if possible because I've heard of it killing the chick. [color=#8040BF]sorry i cant be of more help, but i did read somewhere when i was searching for answers to my questions about my tiel eggs that when you hear the chirping in the egg it should hatch within 48-72 hours.....i *think*.....hope that helps some and good luck with your babies![/color]

One hatched and I had to assist because the egg shell was to hard!!! well he's doing fine and mom is cleaning him up. I hope he does ok, well he has dark eyes so I guess no Lutinos. Thanks everybody and the other is on the way to hatching. melissa & her five tiels
