After completing the outdoor flight, the kids have been able to come and go as they please in / outside. The other day while we were having a light rain, 3 of the kid were outside and having a ball taking natural showers I captured the video on my cell phone, but I don't think I can get it off of it since I don't have a micro-SD card in it, but I'm going to try. The kids were Chirp, Suzie and Cuddles, and as with any of them, when they get wet or sprinkled on, they do such funny moves, trying their best to get the water under their wings. Chirp and Suzie were hanging upside down from the rope perch and one of the crepe myrtle perches taking it all in. This is the first time some of them had ever been wet too, so it was especially funny watching their antics. If I can get the video off the phone, I'll post it on my server or on Picasa. You gotta love them birdies...

That really is funny, Sam! Those birdies are the silliest things. When Casper gets wet, she will spread her wings and duck her head under her wings. She is getting a bit better with water. She actually seems to enjoy it once in awhile.

Sam, have any other birds or animals tried to come around your screen room out of curiosity? I was wondering how wild birds react to the tiels being out there.

Not that I'm aware of Lisa. I kind of keep a sharp eye out for other birds or animals, but so far, nothing has been curious enough to land on the screen. I do know that when I go out in the flight, everybody has one eye to the sky quite often, so they still consider themselves prey. About the only thing that could get in the flight would be something like a coon or maybe a very strong cat, but lately, all the stray cats that have been around here seemed to have vanished (thankfully). Today, while I was down in the shop working, they were watching me about as much as I was checking on them. Everybody seems to be enjoying the flight, especially Smokey who needs the UV and natural light worse than anybody. Some however, like Pixie who really needs it won't stay out there. I put Pixie out with everyone else, and she panicked from ???? and almost caused a mass panic. I'm almost positive her eyesight is deteriorating, as she kept flying into the outside wall of the house. Poor birdie.. not much I can do for her except keep her safe inside.

Your birds are so lucky that they have that outdoor area, I wish I could have one for Rosie.

Unfortunately, I've not been able to pull the video off the phone. Maybe able to move it to a micro-SD card when I get one. I just hate to go anywhere because of the braindead drivers here. I'll keep trying, as I know yall would get a kick out of it..
