They already have prosthetics for parrots! Beaks and legs!

You might want to look into corner shelves or hanging shelves and just put something soft on top... or if you can sew, you can sew a couple covers (with velcro?) over the perches to make a soft spot to perch...

I got those little shelves, the sun deck ones, two are in woody and boss's cage and one is on the outside of Pip's cage with a T-perch on it, and they all seem to really like these-----in fact they like to sleep on them-----that is where Pip sleeps at night and Woody and Boss sleep on theirs most nights too, so they must be comfortable for their feet if all three of mine seem drawn to them to sleep on----plus---the sun deck ones are really cheap! They are also very easy to put in and lift back out of the cage to clean.

    Those shelves look great! Thanks!

I can sew a cover, but I thought I read that fabric was dangerous for birds because they chew on it and get tangled in the threads. Is there a particular type of fabric I should use?

Anything can be dangerous..... it's just a matter of watching your bird to ensure that the bird doesn't find a way to harm itself... if you see the fabric coming apart, you can either cut the loose parts away or make a new one.

I'm currently using a hanging shelf aka "sun deck" (different kind) and putting folded up handkerchiefs on top. Once soiled I replace with another one and wash the soiled one. I never learned to sew and I don't really want to... so I do this... and provides a soft spot for the girls to sit on (or lay on - bourke who has a swollen foot possibly due to egg laying, and Casey who somehow got her toe injured and its swollen). During the day they share a cage so I can keep an eye on them and give them meds. At night Casey moves to Charlie's cage, when Charlie is moved to his sleeping cage in the bird room...
