OT--> my birds said YES!

Postby bubbabird85 on Mon Feb 18, 2008 5:00 pm

At the urging of Sue, here goes, lol

On tiel chat, we have shared a lot of good as well as not so good times. Through all of that, it feels like in those times we have become our own little "family", as most of the new posters will realize, that is generally how people are welcomed to the forum... so I felt it might be appropriate to share some wonderful news in my life here.

On Saturday, Feb 9, my boyfriend of 2 1/2 or so years proposed to me, and I told him I would love to spend the rest of my life with him. I had been waiting and anticipating this day for a while, but never knew what it would be like to be so happy, full of joy and love... so now, you all know... and as I have assured Sam, the birds approve... they love him to death.

:D

Congratulations on your happy news! :D
In my search for an appropriate mate , the qualifications I looked for:
1) that he had to love and be kind to my pets
2) (for me) had to scuba dive :D LOL!
I'm glad you found someone that loves your pets! :D :D :D

Thanks everyone... it is nice to be able to share this with all of you!

For those who asked, we have not quite set a date yet, but we are most likely looking at May of next year... as a student, I don't have a lot of time to "plan" during the semester... so I figure this will give us the summer and a few weeks in December to plan everything.

Special note for Zynx-- I am the yongest in my family by 8,9, and 12 years. My siblings were married with kids before I was even out of the house... I know how you feel--I hardly ever see them. Ryan has a sister 3 years his junior, and I have seen her more in the past 2.5 years than I have my own siblings, all three combined, in the last 5 years, at least. I wish I had a closer relationship with my own siblings, but I am happy to inherit a little sister.

I will pass on all your kind words to Ryan :D

hugs,

Jackie

Ahh yes, trying to plan a wedding while still in school! I know that all too well. I'm doing that as we speak! This semester is my last semester of classes. I'm getting married in August and then I'll be student teaching.
We did most of our planning this past summer. It's hard to make appointments to do things when you're in school and working!
But it wasn't as stressful as I thought it was going to be! I'm taking it all in stride. Not rushing into things. If I had I wouldnt have found my WONDERFUL photographer. I was going to go with someone different until I found the one I have now. You'll see how little things work out.
Keep us updated! :)
