Jackie,
I think you have the "perfect" group here to help if we can because our hearts are in it and we feel very strongly about a situation where poor, helpless, inoccent little birds are suffering, and being neglected.

Yup, we love our babies. my husband bought a lottery ticket the other day. I said to him, "what would you do with all that money if we won millions of dollars". Without missing a beat...he said, "we could have a house FILLED with cockatiels and budgies!" I laughed because we already have 5 tiels & 5 budgies.
Keep us updated bubbabird regarding thoughs tiels and I will follow up at that discount store to see if they hired anyone in that pet section (BTW it is not 16 miles like I previously written. it is 26 miles one way)

hey all,

No visit to the store today, as I had some family obligations that needed to be attended to... so I will be there tomorrow, and let you know how conditions are. Thanks for all your support and your willingness to help :)

Jackie,

I've been following your story with petland. It just sickens me that anyone could be so cruel to another living thing. How could you NOT feed your birds????? Makes me SO angry.

I had an experience years ago... probably 15+ now, where I saw a tiel in a Walmart type of store (don't remember exactly where). I remember the bird having a deformed leg and I was so sickened by it. I remember taking pictures, calling the local animal control and offering to take the bird. Unfortunetly they would not give me the bird, I was a teenager and a poor one at that, I couldn't buy him, :(, and the local animal control was just useless in this situation and offered NO help,

Jackie, you are so wonderful for what you are doing. You are truely an angel for these babies. Please please let us know if you need us to call, write, whatever it takes to make sure these little ones are safe. I have no faith that the local authorities have the time, money or concern to take action for the behalf of these birds, but I will and I know the rest of the board will.

Lisa, it is so good to see you on the board again :) I have posted an update on a trip yesterday. It makes me mad too, and i am glad that there are so many people who want to help... I have my mom and dad writing letters too :) We love and appreciate these little babies for who they are, and so many people don't ,and take them for granted. I am glad that there are people here who understand and want to help.
