I think this set of articles should be mandatory reading for anyone planning on having more than one birdie, regardless of what type. I'd read this set of articles almost 2 years ago, but refer back to it now and then to assure myself I'm not completely insane. The Introduction, then parts I, II, & III are excellent, even if a tad dated. The rest is great info as well.

Quite unfortunate their message board died from becoming closed, but hopefully their library will remain open.

That site tends to have great information... as for the forum... it's still open... still up and running... however, to NCS MEMBERS ONLY.... Simply, they were not set up to be a free forum... at least not set up in a way that there wouldn't be issues.... and thus because of how they set things up it was their downfall... so now it's members only...

They were a great source of info when I first got the fids. Sorry they had to change over to only allowing access to members. Since I have five species, it seemed a bit OTT to join society for each. Thanks for the link, very useful!!

Their message board is dead for all intents and purposes. I spoke recently with Margaret Madison who is the admin, and she's also sorry it bit the dust, and all of the ex-panelists have failed to renew their membership, so she is the only person left answering posts, which are very few and far between. Yes, it was good, but when the directors decided to quit "giving away something they could sell" which was the info on the board, and decided to close it to members only, it immediately died. It's a shame the archived posts from years back could not have been left up in a read only mode so folks could search back through articles and posts for info. I also invited Margaret to join us here. I joined it about a year or so after getting my first two kids.

Ah, now I see what your saying Sam.... I do believe that I have talked to Margaret before, and she's a really great person.
