Never give up hope. I am proud of the fact that my girl does talk, She says "I love you." And "Pretty Bird" and wolf whistles, though she doesn't sing. I suspect that is because she's around us humans and not other, more experienced tiel singers. (Or she's a male, and I don't know that yet, lol)
I'm not trying to give up, in fact Danny is showing both female traits and male traits behavior wise, so it has thrown me for a loop in trying to figure her or him out. But I know for sure that he/she is in first molt right now so it will be a couple of more months and then I will know for sure I think.
I also figured out that Danny is a nutty bird in another way. I had the cage turned so that around 8 inches were where she/he could look outside, but it was upsetting her/him and causing big wings constantly throughout the day plus loads of screaming. I just figured out the other day it was the outdoor wild birds upsetting him/her, so I turned the cage the other direction and most of those issues are now gone. Yeah big wings ae still done off and on throughout the day but not all day long, and the screaming is now only when someone walks into the room. Danny is also beak banging at times on the side of the cage and last night on my finger. I have also found out that I cannot keep a mirror in Danny's cage because Danny will constantly climb all over it and is very agressive with the other image of a bird, whereas Jack now has the mirror and totally ignores it.
