Made a few pictures yesterday and day before so thought I'd share them if you care to look. Since there are so many, I won't directly link to them here except for one, and the others can be seen by following the link provided. All the new ones begin with dsc_* and dates of 12 Mar., so you'll just get a directory with some with names, and the dsc_ ones. Here's how Gizmo likes his cuddles.... Enjoy

The pictures are so cute!!! Since you don't have any thumbnail pics, you could upload the pics to http://tinypic.com/ and it should give you a thumbnail preview as well as an image.... or use a photo hosting website.... that has thumbnail previews.

I'd thought about installing some picture viewing software on my server, but it really isn't a picture server, but my weather stuff, part of which is temporarily not updating (the numerical models pages) but depending on the interest, and how many pictures I put on there, I might just do it. I know it would be easier for others to view what they want rather than having to click on each image file. I'm kind of lazy when it comes to doing that stuff, but the weather data is really the important stuff.

Sam - they are beautiful! So photogenic, does it run in the family?

I assume your wife was the photographer with the one of you - she did a great job. I know you miss Coco.

    Jackie,

Smokey is approx 7, the rest vary in age from 7 mo. to about a year. The breeder does not keep records, and has no clue as to their actual age other than just a close estimate. He's breeding over a hundred pairs.

    Jo,

Somehow my indoor pictures seem to come out better than the outdoor shots of the birds. I keep saying I'll read the book on the camera and learn how to adjust the white balance to compensate for bright subjects and backgrounds, but have not done so. Yes, Emi was the shooter on those of me.

    Glad ya'll like 'em..

They really are adorable :) does smokey get along okay with the younger tiels? As for your camera, you may be able to adjust the color when you load them onto your computer... I know you can do that when you develop digital photos, but not for sure if you just download them onto the computer... you may want to look into it though :)

    Jackie,

I've got software that can manipulate some aspects of the images which came with the camera, the Nikon Picture Project, and it will also open raw files to really mess with. My main problem is I believe, white balance when shooting outside, or it could be something as simple as forgetting to put a filter on.. I just have not taken time to read about all the manual settings the D-70 has but most of the time, the auto mode takes good pictures. I don't choose my backgrounds so well, but then again, the kids don't let me choose it much either, so I shoot when and where I can! I do know one version of Adobe's photoshop will open RAW files, and can manipulate everything about the image including white balance, saturation, hue, shading and all that. The software that came with the D-70 won't let you adjust the w/b on raw files, as it's a cheaper version of the professional product. I will check it out though.

    Thanks...
