Crystal Pier in San Diego. They are cottages out on the pier. You drive right out and park there in front of your own little cottage. You have to make a reservation a year in advance because it is so popular!

Wish I could bring Casper. I am sure she would love the sunlight and the heat!

She has to stay home with the pet sitter!
Lisa & the zoo - Diego (in Birdie Heaven with Sherwin), Casper (tiel), Snowey & Petey (Love Birds), Sunny (bearded dragon), Cookie & Radcliffe (Long Haired Dachshunds)!

That sounds like it would be a fantastic experience!!!! I've heard of places too that you have to schedule a year in advance.... longest waiting list I"ve heard of though was 5 years!!!

Thinking about it though, there should be two wild flocks of parrots in the San Diego area... amazons, and maybe canary winged parakeets.... I think for sure though there are wild amazons.

There's some flocks around Tustin/Los Angeles, and Santa Baraba, as well as conures in San Fransisco.

OK, I got all you youngsters beat! I'm gonna have to join the Red Hat Society in September!!!! :o

And it's SO true -- the years go by faster and faster all the time!

Funny, though... I still FEEL like I'm 29.

 LOL!!! Funny you should say that! I've actually been having second thoughts. I will definitely join AARP (for the discounts, mind you!), but I don't know if I'm ready for the Red Hat Society. People are generally shocked when they learn that I'm 49 -- most say they thought I was in my 30's!!! A few "peers" who haven't weathered so well have actually become more distant when they found out I was their age. So maybe I wouldn't quite "fit in" there yet.
