Tina, the flight cage you have is very similar to my flight cage... other than the fact that it has one door instead of two. It is called a Havana Flight Cage, cage manufacturer is A&E Cages...

Where-as mine is an HQ

Other than a few minor differences, they are practically the same cage. I am pleased with my HQ, but I do wonder how the two (HQ flight & A&E Havana) stack up against eachother...

I knew the manufacturer, but not the specific name of the cage :D . Personally I like the single door over the double door. It is big enough for my head to go into the cage if I wanted. It has a good strong door latch and a safty latch in case you forget to lock it. Which I have done 2 times since I have had the cage. It seems really strong, it is really big and I love it. The only thing I don't care for is the food dishes. I will more then likely be replacing those with something else pretty soon. I like the available colors better too.

Oh yeah, the white cage is a YML I found the manufacturer on the bottom. Not that I think it is good for tiels at all. I think it is too skinney. But my tiel that is in there is accustomed to it and does not get her feathers caught in the side.

How about the climbing ability in the flight cages? It doesn't look as though there are many horizontal bars for climbing up and down and up and down........

Min loves to climb! She climbs every thing and anything she can!

Birds don't need horizontal bars to climb... Although yes it helps, it's not needed really.. I'd say the best thing horizontal bars are good for is to try and help keep tail feathers in good shape... but then again a perch shouldn't be so close to the cage bars that it hits the bars frequently.

    Jo,

Bubba has had some problems climbing in his flight cage... but there are ladders that help, and with mine, there are small animal shelves that he LOVES to sit on. I found one like bubba's on e-bay from another seller-- you may want to check it out... see the feedback though, because I didn't take a look... and see return policy:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Large-Bird-cage-Fin ... dZViewItem

The auction is over in an hour... but no bids, so you still have a chance, plus they may have more. Exact cage as Bubba's with a different seller.

I still like the havana flight cage though :)

My bird that lives in this cage climbs ok, would climb better if there where more horizontal bars though. But she seems very happy with the space she has and that alone is worth it. It is possible to stratgically place toys to make getting around in it easier too.

Here you can see her climbing on it:

Woody got his new cage yesterday----I washed it and set it all up. It still needs some work-----more perches and few other things I want to put in it, but I put it all together last night and I tried to put woody in it this morning and he was so funny----he stayed on my arm and just looked all around as I held my arm inside it----I had to physically take him off of me and put him on the perch inside, then he started checking it all out and found out quick how easy it is to climb in there because of all the horizontal bars, which he does not have in his other cage. He really seemed to like that! I think it won him over! lol because he is in it right now napping. After he climbed around and checked it all out, I put my hand back in, in case he wanted out, but he stayed, so I guess he is liking his new cage! For now I will put him in the new cage for a couple of hours each day so he can get used to it. They cage is ok, I am pretty happy with it, but you're right Mfids, I have to wrap those legs with something. The cage is supposed to be bigger than the one I have now, but it seems about the same size, maybe a little roomier.

My cockatiels (3) are in the Blue Ribbon Z2 aviary cage. I really like it, they seem to as well. Size: Inside: 37-1/2" x 27-1/2" x 39" high; Outside: 44" x 35" x 62-1/4 high.

The door is big enough to put my small cockatiel play gym on and the four feeding/water cups make it easy for them all to eat at the same time. I have added rope perches, a perching platform, and a large cotton swing to the cage for their enjoyment, not to mention with all that space I can have several toys in there. I found that Petsmart carries the replacement cups too.

Here is the Z1 aviary that Drs Foster and Smith carry. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... &N=0&Nty=1

The only difference is mine does not have the seed skirt on the outside.

Wow Christie!! What a beautiful cage! I am green with envy lol! Thanks for posting the dimensions.

Unfortuatley that is waay out of my price range - I have one tiel and don't plan on getting another :( My husband is not on board with anther one yet.

I know her cage is kinds small - 22x11x18 give or take an inch, but she does have a lot of out of cage time and I do have a perch for outside the cage. So..... hopefully in the not so distant future I can upgrade her home.

It is a major piece of furnature! Not to mention the IRN in the Grey cage right next to it, they are close to the same size!

Here is an accual photo from outside my house of the cage in question, it is hard to see, but you can see Ash, my rescue hanging out on top.
