how long does it take for wings to grow back after you clip them?

That depends on a few things. If the wings are clipped while still growing - I did that the first time - then you will have to clip again after 2 weeks or so. If they are fully in then it would be they molt and the new feathers grow in. You may have to clip as they grow because it only takes an inch of growth past the coverts for them to get good flight ability.

I'm sure others will give you their opinions and experience too.

Woody's feathers were all fully grown in when we got him clipped-----within two weeks you could already see two feathers growing in----now they are growing in like crazy and he is molting. We got him clipped right after christmas. He still cannot fly very good, but just enough to get places-----he can fly up about a foot or so above where he is, but then he just goes down! He does have more flight as time goes by, little by little though, and as long as he can't do laps around the living room like he did before he was clipped, then I will just let them grow. I don't want to clip him again, I want him to be able to fly, but maybe just get them trimmed a little bit after so he doesn't have full flight---we'll see, depends on how he is when they grow out.

I was wondering this too.. I got Rosie's wings clipped the day I bought her and I didn't know when I should do them again.

You'll notice 2 things: 1. They are longer and 2. The ability to fly has shown!
