So Cute

Postby Rosies Mommy on Thu Mar 08, 2007 3:07 am

So Rosie gets out of her cage all on her own now guys. She is so cute.. She makes me a nervous wreck when she does this cuz I'm one of those overly protective paranoid mothers. First let me tell you that her cage looks like a 2 story house with a pitched roof. Well as nervous as she makes me she is just the cutest little thing.. What she loves doing is she will get out of her cage and she will get on the tippy top and hold on and slide down the pitched roof then she will walk back up and slide down the pitched roof again. She will do this over and over and over.. She loves sliding!!! Then she will get on the side of the cage and she will walk around the outside of the cage over and over and she will stop behind the cage (the part thats against the wall) and hang out there cuz theres a few inches between the wall and her cage.

She loves her playpen I bought her too.. She will just walk up the ladder and hang out on the bar but shes so cute. Then sometimes she will turn her back to us and spread her wings out wide while my Mom & I ohh & ahhh about it.. Then she will turn around to face us and then turn her back to us and spread her wings again.. She likes to act all silly..

And did I tell you guys that shes learning to give kisses? I will say "give Kisses" and I will go to kiss her and she will like nibble on my bottom lip. But if she don't want kisses she will just look at you like "Yeah you wish"..

I'm in love :D

K I just had to brag about her progress to you guys.. :D

By all means...brag!!! We love to hear the progress. Sounds like Rosie is doing great. Every day something new happens!

It is truly amazing how you can fall in love with a bird, but I know now that it is possible. Casper makes me so happy just as Rosie has brightened your life!!!

I have the same problem-----some birds are just so picky. Have you tried her with bread?? if she eats bread, she will probably eat birdie bread and you can make it yourself and put (sneak) in veggies, or even organic baby food. My tiel loves bread! here are recipes

Have you tried eating right in front of her yet? Keep her out of the cage, and let her sit on your shoulder if she will. Put a plate close to your mouth/chin, and move food to your mouth slowly, and eat. she will get interested :D . And everyone is right... brag all you like :)

I tried that today. All she ate was some doritos.. She didn't wanna sample the bread, she didn't wanna sample the ham all she was willing to sample was the doritos.

She now has dorito breath

Try some whole wheat toast. Make sure the whole wheat bread you purchase is 100% stone ground wheat, with no enrichment. Not sure what stores you have there in NM, but Frye's is the W. equivalent of Kroger in the east. They have a brand called "Nature's Own", and is what we eat, and is 100% stone ground wheat. I now prefer it over white bread any day. All my kids love the crust after toasting, with or without butter or grape jelly :-)

If she like doritos, try frozen corn - defrosted of course!
