You know Theo, Casper spend most of the day yesterday in her cage. Which is really, really different. She had to be with us constantly before. This is the first weekend in about 5 months now that I have not had to carry a bird around. And even when I left the room, she didn't always screech for me.

    Hmmmmm...

You asking the wrong person here-----woody has always loved his cage! It's HIS area where he can be totally secure and happy and singing----even though he does seem to like his time outside at times, he still won't do the "happy" things he does inside his cage. He really just loves his cage----and it's a nice cage, very big and I always keep it very clean and give him lots of nice toys, and it's where his food is. I'm glad he likes the home we got him so much! but I can't wait til he can be that happy out either! I'm thinking that day will come though because there are times when I try to put him back in his cage after being out when he doesn't want to go back in! most times he wants to go back though and goes right in happily.

I'm not bothered by it just curious as it's something she just started doing. The door is always open so she can come out if she wants to be with the others.

    Theo,

Has she changed her sleeping habits recently, or has her appetite fallen off for some reason? Sometimes they might just need a break, but if she's doing this all of a sudden, I'd monitor her closely. Could be a lot of things, but try to think of the obvious first.

Could be she's just tired of being chased and not wanting to socialize with Joey. Does she seem to be not friendly to Joey's advances?

you're joking she's a woman, she flirts bad . LOL

Joking aside she seems content inside. I think you might be right she just needs some alone time.

Could it also be that she might be getting ready to lay eggs. shes very young ?

Theo, how old is she? Has she been "presenting" herself to the boys? Does she make that adorable little squeaky noise that just makes you want to smooch her? Luna has! And she's our only bird! Hubby said she was on the floor today alone, not being touched and doing that mating behavior. Yikes! I hope she doesn't give us eggs!
