Have any of you who cuddle your birdy noticed when rubbing their head, they have a particular side they prefer over the other, or back of the head / neck? I think all of mine like their right side stroked over the back or left. Seems kind of weird, but guess that's what feels good. Gizmo has become my really affectionate buddy. When I first got him he'd get on my shoulder, but he'd always pull my whiskers for no reason at all. Now, he's the 2nd in line in the mornings for scritches and cuddles. Only reason he's 2nd is because Missy flies to me and beats him out Then the next hour and a half is spent loving on everybody before breakfast!

I let mine sit in the palm of my left hand while I use the fingers of both hands to massage them all over their head, face, and neck simultaneously. I haven't heard any complaints yet

You mean you don't let them get up under your chin and nuzzle All mine want close body contact I guess! Maybe I got a bunch of insecure birdies ?

Yup! I have an insecure birdie too and he does the same thing!

Rosie don't really let me pet her yet but I hope that sometime soon she will learn to love it.. I always wanna just wrap her in both my hands and just hug her to pieces and kiss her all over. I am so in love with her already.

Luna get under the chin and in my face! She'll sit on my built in shelf and hold her head up and out so I don't miss a millimeter anywhere! She especially loves under the beak on her neck, I'll spread the feathers from the middle outward left to left, right to right. It's so funny, she bends her neck back and to the right with her eyes almost closed as if to say "ooohhh yeah, that's it, that's the spot, now over here , yeah you got it. Wow that was great!"

Of course I am too happy to do it! She loves her beak rubbed too!

Casper seems to turn hers to her right side. Not always, but that is usually the way she turns her head.

Funny thing now, when I smooch her on the top of her head, she then leans down for a head rub. I think she is associating the two!!! She is just so darn cute!

Woody hates to be touched by hands----just keep them away! I still try every day and there have been times he let me touch him with my hand, but very few, and he even gets mad at you if you touch his tail! I really hope that he gets over that fear of hands. It's funny because he doesn't mind being ON your hand, and will even step up alot of times. If you put your hand near his feet, he doesn't care most of the time---unless he doesn't want to move from where he is! He loves shoulders though and faces, will snuggle right up to my face!

in the past joey would go in the bedroom at night and sit at the bottom of the bed while watching the news. now he sits on my shoulder with me or should I say lie with me it's so cute. when the news is over I take him back to the cage it's so cute and warm.

Bubba is such a cuddle buddy... he loves to be scratched all over his head and neck... sometimes his back, and he hates to have his tail touched too... so I know where you are coming from on that one woody it is great when he decides that he prefers to be scratched somewhere else, and while I am petting him, he moves his head to another position... even funnier when he tries to pet his own head, moving his head back and fourth on your hands, toes, chin, or in my boyfriend's case... ears..., and then there is on inamimite objects like towels, blankets, whatever he gets his little beak on... it is sooo funny . He doesn't seem to have one favorite spot though, just everywhere.
