I found this bird poetry contest online and my sister writes poetry, so I asked her to enter it and she did. Her bird is a quaker and his name is mr. monk, so please go and check it out----she wrote a really great poem! thanks!

Oh, monk is the bottom bird on that page, he is a green quaker

Ok, they added more poems and pictures to that page, and they don't put any info where the pics are----you have to click on them to get the info. Monk is the one with the window in the background and his play gym he is on has blue on it. this is my sister's poem.........

My bird is Mr. Monk; he loves to talk and sing.

He waves and says hello by lifting up his wing.

He gets happy and excited when he sees me passing by.

And he yells and chirps in anger when he hears me say goodbye.

He doesn’t say that much to me, but he says all that he can.

He’s my little green companion and he’s such a loving friend.

I’m so thankful for my birdie; I hope he’s with me for a while.

For in the midst of many problems, he can always make me smile.
