Tiki still not coming around

Postby rradrobyn on Thu Jan 18, 2007 6:01 pm

I've moved Tiki back to his/her usual place. He/she paces back and forth, like before, but as soon as my hand goes in the cage, he/she goes crazy. I've tried offering my hand at other times, and he flies away. I'm frustrated and don't know what to do still. I've kept the door open, once since I have 8 other animals, including a cat, and he paced, looked, climbed the cage, curious, but did not come out. It was like, "Come on lady, what do you want me to with this?" So...Loki is getting all the lovin', and I don't know how to get Tiki back. Won't they regress, and not want to come out if I don't work with him daily?

Patience is the key. The more you force it, the more he's going to want to stay in the cage. Have you tried the treats outside the cage?

You do keep the cat locked out of your bird room, right?

The cat roams about the house when we are here. The birds stay in their cages most of the time. When we're not home, she is locked in the basement, just in case. Tiki is funny about treats. He doesn't like anything new in or outside the cage. I will try some cooked pasta next. He does like plain mac.
