I figured out how to get some pics up on a flickr page. Thanks to whoever it is that uses that around here. That's how I knew it existed.

He's pretty!!

Oh my goodness...he looks just like Casper!! How old is Marley? We think Casper was hatched sometime in April. We say April 15 and we call her the tax baby!!!

Thank you all for the compliments! We love him bunches! (This is the first time I've had a bird and it's been a learning experience let me tell ya!)

He is a year and a half old. He had a rough start we were told. He came from a rescue place where they nursed him back from being neglected and malnourished. A colleague of mine got him for the classroom (I'm a middle school teacher) and he got a different job away from teaching pretty quickly after he got him, so he gave him to the science teacher next to me (who didnt know ANYTHING about birds).
Marley stayed in her classroom for about 3 weeks, but he took to me right away! I had a friend that had some larger birds and knew a little bit, so when I reached over to scritch his head, he loved it (of course!) and the science teacher was shocked because she didnt know birds would do that.
I took him home (just for Spring Break, mind you) much to the chagrin of my sig. other Bryan (who said we dont need a bird at home, even for a week!) and that VERY same day, Bryan said Marley was never going back!
We are such bird people now! He, he.
He was in this $40 dinky cage that was way too small for him. He had to hunch over just to sit on the top perch because otherwise his crown would hit the top of the cage. We decided he was needing a castle, so we invested in a nice home for him.
