Yesterday, Missy and Gizmo got in trouble while on the playtop of the cage. It was my fault, as I had placed the cages too close to the patio door, and they both chewed the edge of a trim piece about 6" long. I didn't see them chewing, but when I discovered them, I looked at both of them and just said in a little louder than normal speech, "BAD BIRDS" and said it a couple of times. I moved the cages further away from the door, and let it go. Later, they both went back in the cage and did not come out again for several hours. Later, I got each one on my hand and was my normal nice self, and told them I was not mad at them. Both acted like I had hurt their feelings, and weren't as at ease as normal. They are both OK this morning, but I just couldn't help but think maybe in fact I HAD hurt their feelings.
Guess that just goes to show they really are the sensitive critters they are so widely proclaimed to be. Anybody else ever scold their babies and get a similar reaction?
