Yep.. they could make pretty good feathered saws, for sure. Pine does not stand up too well, but balsa is really just for fun. Catschair, you can find balsa at the local hobby shop, or sometimes craft stores. Doubt the lumber yard has any.
There isn't a shred of paper or cardboard they haven't gotten in to! We had to stop leaving any important papers anywhere they could get to them. It just amazed me how long they can entertain themselves with something as simple as a piece of thin cardboard, or a postcard type stuff. They each will bite off a chunk, chew it for a bit, then swap it with another -- really "swapping spit"
Don't know about y'all, but all those expensive toys are a waste of money. Mine like simple stuff, like the paper, a discarded tail or flight feather, drinking straws, my wife's hair roller pins, bead chain, and for really good chewing exercise, a piece of semi-hard plastic tubing about 2" long. The only problem I have, is *EVERYBODY* wants to eat on my eyeglasses. I just got new lenses about a month ago, and I now have beak point marks around the edges of the new lenses! I never thought they could dent polycarbonate with anti-scratch coating, but they did. About the only thing I can do is remove them, but then, I can't see too well... the word "NO" only makes them want to get to the glasses that much more.
