Have decided to keep Holly :D
I am going to bathe/shower her more often and also wash her cage down regularly to keep the dust and dander at bay.
Hoping it will help!
Our daughter has had chest x-ray and x-ray to see if her adenoids are not enlarged and she needs to do a lung function test in the next few weeks too :|
She is now also taking a nosespray (nasonex) to help with possible allergies to grasses, pollen etc :? (more stuff to take, hope it's not doing any long term damage all these medications!!!)

Anyway, made a signature with a picture of her, see if it works

We have bought a new house by the way and unfortunately there is no good spot for the aviary so another reason I wanted to keep Holly as I am going to rehome my aviary tiels + aviary :(
Luckily they are going to a lady that has already got about 4 birds of mine so I know they will be loved, it is still a hard decision though
I just can not handle the thought of the birds being underneath the new house's patio and not getting any sun at all :( .
The only spot where they would get sun and shade would be near the pool and I really don't want an aviary near a swimming pool :? The other alternative was to rip out a part of the garden and put the aviary next to the pool fence which would mean they would be right near the entertaining area where the bbq would be and again that is no good as bbq fumes can kill birds I believe
It has taken me quite a few weeks to make this decision, it is a tough one but I gotta do whats right for them........

I hope the aviary tiels enjoy their new home, and that Holly doesn't cause your daughter any undue suffering! Hopefully the new meds help, too!

sold the aviary today but only with 4 birds, kept my original hen Meg (whiteface pearl) and her partner DJ (whiteface pied)
Aviary went to a different lady in the end, one that already has one aviary with tiels and two budgies, she also has a rescued dog and two tame tiels inside so I know she is an animal lover :D
She did not want all 6 of my tiels so the decision was a little easier in that case as I do love my Meggie  have had her for a few years now and she is such a chilled bird  She loves to preen your hair and takes seeds from your fingers so quite tame really :)
I always had to laugh when all the others would fly around the aviary when something had spooked them (or if I was wearing a new top  ), she would just sit there with this look on her face as if to say "oh chill out everyone"

So she is now in a patio aviary with DJ until we have moved house.
We will then try to find an aviary that will fit the new place, I think it will need to be a hexagon/octagon shape one......

Glad that some of them found good homes! I hope things work out at the new place so you can keep Meg and DJ!
