What is this Harrison booster? is it a med or a supplement? Do you need a prescription for it?

The "above ground" vegetables might be better then the "below ground" veggies, but that doesn't help me any... (thinking how clostridium can survive in soil)

The Harrison's products are supplements and you don't need a prescription for them, but they can be quite expensive. I have two, the first I bought and the second free sample. Just click on their names to read more about em.

Booster - Dietary Supplement
Ingredients: A patented monoglyceride suspended in certified organic Brazilian red palm fruit oil.

Booster Concentrate- Antimicrobial Dietary Supplement
Ingredients: A patented highly purified distilled monolaurin.

Or there's this website as well which has information, as well.

I am hoping that they help, but with the other things that I'm trying, who's to say what did or did not help?

I printed the info out and i will show it to my vet to see what she thinks. I have an appointment for Button this afternoon for her second shot of doxycycline.
Do you give this suppliment to all your birds or just hte ones that are sick?

Booster (Red Palm Oil), yes. Kiwi is the only one at the moment getting Concentrate. I don't think I could imagine having to give the entire flock Concentrate at once.

Not to mention Vetri-DMG liquid and Pretty Bird Ultimate Virus and Bacteria Blocker.

Just can't understand why Kiwi's immune system is so bad that she can't fight off this infection.

I brought the info about the booster and booster concentrate to my vet. She thought in Button's case IF she wasn't eating pellets that it would be a good idea. She thought something like that might help her but to give it to her periodically not to overload her system with vitamens etc..
The doxycycline did the trick. She looks so much better. She got her second dose.
The vet recommended a simple easy to clean humidifier for the winter. She said the dry heat does a number on bird's sensitive respiratory systems. I do not know what the weather conditions are were you live but I just thought I'd pass that info along.

Glad to hear she's doing better!

Kiwi has been a bit easier to remove from the cage so I can medicate her now, and I'm having to give her the Concentrate first to shred into tiny pieces and hope she gets enough in her, then giving her the liquid meds. It's less messier this way, and she's also *finally* getting better at taking her meds - in between the times she screams for her mate! I am worrying that with all the things she's getting, it might really screw up her system, so I hope her gram stain is clear the next time!

Our summers are dry and hot, although we do use a swamp cooler (brings up the humidity), and in the winter it gets dry. I've tried a few different humidifiers, but I didn't like any of them! What's the one your vet recommended?

My vet recommended a inexpensive simple "vicks" humidifer so it is easy to clean and empty out on a daily basis. I found one at Walmart for about $16.00
