Would you mind stating what meds and the specific doses your vet prescribed for your cockatiel? I am assuming an anti-fungal for sure and maybe an anti-bacterial etc.?

I would suggest you have her crop fed safely so she can gain back her weight quicker and get needed vitamins/nutrition into her asap, in addition to feeding her healthy veggies like broccoli, and etc...

She was only on Baytril which I gave her once a day via a syringe rather than putting it into her water......
She is doing great, no head tilt, eating well and playing with the toys etc
Her dad is now leaving her alone and she is just as much part of the flock again as she was before she got sick.
I have probiotics in their water for her, the fact that the others drink the same water doesn't matter, it's not gonna do them any harm  and some extra millets, bread etc
Vegies they always get anyway, their favourite being red chillies :)

Fungal infections often happen after using antibiotics for bacterial infections. In dogs with ear infections, Baytril is combined with an anti-fungal and this combination works better than only using the antibiotic alone. Google BaytrilOtic to see what I am talking about. It has also been suggested in the past that Nystatin and other fungal meeds can help the "star-gazing" one sees in some birds but check all this out first with your well qualified avian vet.

Also be real careful what you are doing without avian vet ok = if you were prescribed a specific dose of Baytril to add to the drinking water which the bird gets only so much of depending on how much it drinks, you can't take that same dose and give it by syringe into the mouth = too high a dose at one time.

Looking forward to hear the exact doses of Baytril and etc. that the avian vet said to give to your bird and how often you are to administer this dose and via what route.

NOthing to worry about :)
Vet told me how much to give her if I was to dose her water and how much to give her if I was to dose her via syringe.
And, like I said, she is fine now :)
