OMG "Patches" is the funniest bird. he does his little "male" walk up and down my leg saying (yes, he talks!) "what a pretty boy!" "whattcha doin'?" and he whistles up a storm. He hates being in his cage so I let him out most of the day (when I am home) He tries to flirt with the females by bowing his head for a scratch but they try to peck him. He seems to get along Ok with Linus (the other male) but I am reluctant about putting them in the cage together without supervison. Patches is still in the 'temp" cage for now.

Patches looks and sounds like a dollbunny to me :D Sounds very happy to be home. My 'tiel flock is mostly seniors and I'd lost so many of my girls that I was left with 8 males and only 3 females. So, in the last yr I've added 3 females. The first one turned out to be male -- shame on me for not testing -- but he's waaaay too adorable to hold that against him. The younger 2 seem surely female and all 3 as cute as can be. What's surprised me is their playfulness! Mine had aged so gradually, while I was so busy, that I'd not noticed how "settled in" they'd gotten. These youngsters have enlivened the whole flock and have the big flight buzzing with activity of a happy 'tielie type. Making me a happy mama :D Here's the youngest, Makeba.

OMG Makeba looks like a "movie star" :D
Mine are getting up there in senior years too. I believe even "patches" is 10 years old (that is what the rescue told me) Lucille must be about 12 at least (she was a rescue). She's tired and gets really annoyed with Linus (he's much younger)
Poor "Fresh baby " got nearly scalped the other day. She is generally a very good flyer. Something spooked her and she took off flying. She must have hit the rough ceiling because her entire crest was gone and she had a bald area on her head witha huge scab. it happened in the matter of seconds. Thankfully she is OK

Since we have snow on the ground I've seen more hawks than usual. It is also the start of the bald eagle season too. I think perhaps a hawk flew by the window that spooked her. Fresh Baby is healing A-OK. She kind of looks like Britney Spears now after she shaved her head.
I just introduced Patches with Eddie. So far, they seem to get along. I will keep the spare cage open just in case but it would be great if Patches and Eddie hit it off. (Eddie is a girl)

Thank you for all your comments! :D
Patches is doing well. I am learning his likes & dislikes too (he is very vocal about this!)
