My kids say I am not allowed to sell the babies  but they will have to go out in the aviary as I can't stand the mess they make :?
Also keeping the cinnamon whiteface and 1 other whiteface pied because I really like his/her markings :D
The other three (2 more whiteface pieds and 1 normal whiteface) are "spoken for" already which is great :D

Babies are doing well :D
When I open the cage and walk away they fly out and follow me :D
They land on my arm 80% of the time when I call them with my arms outstretched, so sweet :)
They still get 3 feeds a day, they are not eating as much seed/pellets etc yet as I would like them to though :|

Out in the aviary there's mum and dad that I will keep, their cinnamon whiteface daughter I will keep, 1 normal whiteface that I'm selling and 3 whiteface pieds, keeping 1 (the best looking one  )
I am also keeping these two munchkins  but they will go out in the aviary.....
Hopefully they will stay tame :)
If they don't get accepted though, I will need to sell them as I really don't want anymore birds inside :(

So at the moment I have 9 tiels in total.

I suppose some folks in the northeastern part of the US have outodoor avairies for about 4 months of the year but I'd worry about racoons, fishercats, cats and hawks plus bird mites and mosqitoes. Our climate can be so extreme. Is this a problem for you? Also do you interact with the birds while they are outdoors?
I have 10 birds and yes, they are high maintenance! :P

Yeah I do interact with them, none of the aviary birds are very skittisch but you can't touch them though....

No I don't worry about the "elements" too much though if it is very hot outside I do go out a few times a day to hose the aviary down and refill their water and bathing dish.
I do worry about snakes but fingers crossed so far they haven't been in our garden (well, one last year, a young one but so glad it decided to leave our garden  all the snakes near us are very poisonous and I have two dogs to worry about as well :( )
We do get wild birds in our garden but our aviary is fully covered on top and is also underneath our patio so quite well protected really.
Most of the time if a wild bird lands in our garden our young dog scares them away.
Had a decent size hawk sit on top of the aviary last year scaring the living daylights out of our tiels  again good thing the top is fully covered :)

We don't have a problem with snakes. Ooooh! We just have harmless little garter snakes that eat bugs.
Mosquitoes are a problem (west nile & EEE) and ticks (lyme disease)because they carry nasty diseases that affect birds, animals and humans. I'm afraid to even let my birds out on the deck because of the mosqitoes and of course, pesky racoons.
Sadly, I know my birds could benefit from the sunshine.

Bit of an update on the baby tiels :)
Have just sold 3, two whiteface pieds and 1 normal whiteface.
They have gone into an aviary with a lady that has bought birds from me before :D
Apparently 1 of the whiteface pieds ended up being quite calm so she has taken him inside and is taming him at the moment and he is doing brilliantly :D
She has another two tame ones inside, one beautiful lutino pearl female :)

I still have, apart from the parent birds, the cinnamon whiteface female and the best looking whiteface pied (he is male) and then of course the two tame ones though one of those, the female, is most likely going to live with a girlfriend of mine.
So for now I have brought this girl back inside the house (had them both out in the aviary) to tame her a bit more as I had noticed she started preferring the birdie flock over the human flock :?
Bit sad though, she is calling for them a lot :(

I had just decided this morning that the girl should go back into the aviary and was starting to have doubts she would make a good pet (driving me insane with her constant calling, wasn't eating much no doubt due to stress and wasn't very cuddly towards anyone apart from me and not even that much really  ) when my friend texted and said they had decided against having a bird.
They have two cats and she doesn't think she can keep the bird 100% safe so a very responsible decision really :D
So the bird is back with her parents and siblings
This was baby F, we called her Flurry as we had a bit of an arctic/snow theme going but she really needs to be renamed :|
Anyone got any good names starting with an F for a female

How about "Fantasia" or "Fatima"? :D
I am visitng a friend of mine who lives in Maine. We are going to make a stop over at a bird shelter.
I am afraid I will come home with another tiel. I just love pieds! I've only seen pieds in bird shows in my area.
Maybe...just maybe if there is a pied that needs a home...........

Normal greys, lutinos and occasionally pearls is what you see here.
