head bobbing?

Postby DMC on Sun Jun 06, 2010 12:26 am

I was just wondering what bobbing their heads mean in the cockatiel world, it seems pretty random at times. Just curious is all... :?:

In males it is usually part of the "mating dance" trying to attract a female.

In males and females, it can be a precourser (sp?) to regurgitation, a way to feed a mate or chick.

Either way, it is a normal behavior. I would take it as the bird is happy and comfortable with you.
