new toy..a big hit!

Postby bostonbudgie on Mon Feb 01, 2010 9:28 am

I bought a new toy for my tiels when I attended the parrot Festival in Houston. You never know if your bird is going to like the toy, ignore it or be afraid of it.
I bought this toy which is a ring of shoe laces with little plastic 'sheaths' on it. Within a week it was completely chewed and wrecked (which means it is a HUGE HIT!) Now I wished I had bought a pile of them. I forgot who the seller was so I contacted people from the festival. So check out www.estarbird.com
I just thought I would share this with you for those of you looking for tiel friendly toys. I found like "shaeths" all over the place and the shoe laces completely frayed. This kept Button busy for hours! :D

That's funny BB! Dino LOVES my shoelaces so much I've been thinking of getting some and making a toy myself!

I have some colored shoelaces that I have laying around, would that be safe to use as a toy? I know someone on here posted something about organic birdtoys and wondered what the site was?

I would be careful with any plastics that the bird can chew and possibly ingest.

The site I use for bird toys and toy parts is Grey Feather http://www.greyfeathertoys.com/
