I can't believe it took me almost a year to realize what kind of toys the little bugger likes!! I don't take clues to well.
Let me explain. I wear glasses and he ALWAYS goes for my glasses!! I swear I could say no 50 times and he'll do it 51!! Then he went for pens in my shirt pocket. I thought that was very cute. I would even clip them to the pocket to make it harder for him. Are you seeing a toy pattern? I know, I couldn't put glasses and pens together !! It took a while but I finally figured it out --------- STICKS!!!!!!!!. Talk about a light bulb moment.
I remembered I had bought a toy last year that was a small sack of some kind of fibrous material with more fibrous stuff inside it and it came with a bunch of sticks! So I put it in his cage and every day for a week or two I was perplexed at why he wasn't playing with them. I had another light bulb moment when I took the sticks out of the sack and saw they were banded together - oh - oops. I untied the bundle and the next day when I came home from work all the sticks were on the floor cage and the ends were getting chewed!!
YEAH!!! I'm learning how to read a bird! Feeding is so much easier - he eats almost everything I give him.
