This Month's Bird Talk Magazine (the November issue)

Postby christie on Mon Sep 28, 2009 10:15 am

Crosspost, worth the read IMO.

Normally I don't do this, but I have read several posts, here and on another bird forum lately that are addressed in the November 2009 issue, yes I subsribe so I get it a bit early. Mistaking agression for play, handicapped birds, spoiled birds that don't stop screaming, lovebird agression, bird on bird agression, and even how to teach your bird to play! Probably my favorite article will be continued in the December issue, building an indoor finch aviary.

Even those of us who have owned birds for 20+ years can continue to learn about our feathered friends, and even if you don't normally look at these magazines, this issue is worth at least taking a look through at your local bookstore or pet store.

I enjoyed the issue also but am VERY disappointed at the overall size of the articles and the issue itself - it has SHRUNK substantially compared to the August issue of 80pg. I went through a few of them over the past few months Oct and Nov - 48 pages May June July - 64 pages and March was 80 pages. I'm not sure if the issues always varied in length like this, I would rather see few longer articles then more shorter articles.

Having subsribed for many years, I can say that this issue was the thinnest one yet, but they do vary in size. I usually see one or maybe two articles that I can learn from, this issue had so much packed into a small package. Much more informative than what is usually there.
