Baby Time!

Postby BAuclair85 on Mon Jul 13, 2009 6:02 pm

I came home from work, cleaned the cage, checked on the eggs and OH! One has a few pip marks along one side and is chirping!

So now that the time is here (I didn't want to do this early and jinx everything) - It's naming time!!!
I figure unisex names work best since I won't know the genders for a while. I want to hear all your suggestions :)

I was calling the egg Pip while I was holding it and keeping it warm (CJ and Buddy were eating and doing bath time) but thats only because of the "Pip marks". haha

    How exciting!
Hopefully mum and dad will do a good job at rearing them, fingers crossed for you :D
    Hmmmm names.........
You are no doubt going to get some greys (if dad has a white spot on the back of the head you might get a pied in there as mum does and is therefore split for pied) so how about
Ash (can be changed to Asher, Ashton or Ashley later  )
Indy (one of my birds, blue budgie)
    Chip
    Pippin
    Obi
    Riley
    Ravi
    Beaky
    Cheeky
    Cookie
    Jasper/Casper
    Ziggy
    Kiko
    Kiwi
    Mango (my pearl pied tiel)
    Luca
    Nibbles
    Ollie
    Sammy
    Raine

ok ok I didn't think of all of these myself  I just had a quick look at a birds names list
Something you can do too, just google it
    good luck with the bubbies

Congrats and good luck with your new babies! :D
It takes a while to see what feather coloring they will have. I would wait on names until you see their coloring and their personalities!
Will you keep all your babies?
I kept two of the babies and gave two the bird shop but I wished I had kept them all.
When my huge English budgie laid 12 eggs only one baby hatched and the baby was huge & fat. I kept her as well (the vet said she was the hugest budgie she has ever seen and took a picture of her. She weighs 76 grams  ) Sadly, the mother died three months later.

    Hello World!

    Image

Thanks for helping my grandma everyone, I hatched without any problems and mom and dad are great! Okay, they stepped on me twice but they are super warm and they feed me whenever I want! My brother or sister isn't too far behind, I hear pecking! We're gonna get along great, I know it. This morning while gram cleaned out my nestbox, I gave them a hug while we waited to go back to Ma!
