Hopefully, each will adapt as well as Patches and JJ have taken to their new surroundings and seem to bd quite happy in their new homes.

    OK, I"m on the desktop now, but no promices will be any better. I"m used to an old IBM micro swtch kbd,, and I only have one, on my linux mahine her at the house. Anyhow, Sue and Ginger have been wonderful guest, attended a ballgame in ATL yesterday, and of course that gave us a break to take care of business as usual during the week. I'm searching for a small =<20" diameter floor buffer/scrubber and not having much luck. Can you imgine how much poop 28 cockaiels can generate in 24 hours? You need a manure shovel :) Anyhow, dunnow when they plan on leaving, but we've decided the number of birds she'll wind up taking with her, which will still leave us with over a dozen. My main prefrences for keepers would be of course Smokey, Pixie, Gizmo, Missy, Suzie, Chirp (bonded siblns) but best of the gang) Yuki, which us Japanese for "snow white", and I assure you, when she is fully feathered out, she'll e compleely white with ruby or plum eyes and pink feet. She's gotta get away away from others before she'll ever get used to the rest of us. It seems the more chicks, and more people in the room, the wilder they get. I'm still learning, believe me.. and I learn stuff every day. Sorry to have to break the message, but the laptop keyboard is more of a PITA than anyhing else.

    MOre rambling as time permits...

    Ok.. before I get on yet another soapbox about vista, I'll post the picture(s). I've lost my text I typed 2 times now somehow, and it's getting quite irritating. The pictures below were from the cellphone camera, so the quality is not the best, but you can get an idea about her coloring, assuming she's a she... gonna be hard to tell with NO color of anykind except white! Here's Yuki (Japanese Snow)

    Actually, Uki is the child of Bandy and Chirp! I'd have never thought a gray pair would / could produce a completely white birdie :)

    Since they were brother and sister, they both carried the whiteface from Smokey and the male carried the Lutino gene from Smokey. It was sheer luck that the baby turned out that color with the other mutations that they carry.

    The pure white tiels are a whiteface lutino. If Smokey hadn't been whiteface, then the parents of this bird wouldn't have been split to whiteface, and this baby would have been yellow instead of white.

    Here is what they have the chance of making, note the whiteface lutino is only 13% chance.

    Mother:Grey Split To Whiteface
    Father:Grey Split To Whiteface {X1: Lutino}

    male offspring:
    13% Whiteface Split To {X1: Lutino}
    13% Whiteface
    13% Grey Split To {X1: Lutino}
    13% Grey
    25% Grey Split To Whiteface {X1: Lutino}
    25% Grey Split To Whiteface

    female offspring:
    13% Whiteface Lutino
    13% Whiteface
    13% Lutino
    13% Grey
    25% Lutino Split To Whiteface
    25% Grey Split To Whiteface
